Ministerial Order No. 2020-43 was signed on September 12, 2020.
Banff Centre sent the following (as below) notice out to employees on September 15, 2020
Dear Banff Centre Team,
The Alberta Hotel Lodging Association (AHLA) has been working with Alberta Labour and Immigration to extend temporary layoff rules for their members. Banff Centre is a member of the Alberta Hotel Lodging Association.
A Ministerial Order has been issued to extend temporary layoffs for AHLA members to the end of 2020.
This extension will allow AHLA members to maintain employment relationships with their staff and delay potentially devastating termination costs.
Banff Centre and CUPE received a copy of the ministerial order yesterday afternoon and are reviewing the details of the order.
Further communication will be forthcoming once we have had opportunity to digest the information.
